The car would try forcing me back in the other direction. Found it annoying and even somewhat dangerous when trying to give extra room when passing a wide load or bicyclist. ![]() I found with the quiet engine, I've thought it was off and ended up hitting the start button only to turn it off, d'oh! A toggle would make it more obvious if it's on or off. I would much rather have a toggle or dial than a push button. At least it can be disabled, credits for that. One can also easily zap a credit card or id card which is extremely inconvenient. Yes you can charge a phone without a wire which is slightly more convenient. Hitting the preset 1 or 2 after has caused me to lose the setting I had previously saved. If I accidentally hit the set button above it, I haven't figured out how to get out of set mode (probably a learning curve here). The advantages don't outweigh the disadvantages in my book. I also have no desire to have my car connected. I already pay for phone service, I don't want to end up paying for yet another service. Frankly, Instead of the whole infotainment system, I'd rather see a tablet/phone mount in that space above a standard radio.īluelink - never bother enabling it. What I would really like to see car manufactures do is go back to more modular components so I could readily switch out the radio if I didn't like the stock offering. My other car allows up to 12 stations, which is plenty, I can change them without taking my eyes off the road, and they work with gloves on. I also worry that it won't work if I have gloves on or if my hands are particularly dry. The radio, while I like the volume of stations, I find it's actually more distracting to switch stations than programmable buttons. I ended up uninstalling Android Auto from my phone. Not the cars fault, but I hate that google forces all of the permissions to be on before android auto will load on my phone even if most of the permissions aren't necessary or desired. Instead of it being on the Nav main page, I have to hit the home button to find the icon. It's not intuitive to find the icon on the Nav screen. I'll be getting a mount for my phone and using that.Īndroid Auto. If the radio stations can be selected while driving there's no reason the nav system can't be also updated. Not only does it not allow updates while driving, the car actually has to be in park, not just stopped for updates to be made. That means even my passenger can't re-route on the fly if necessary. Being locked out from making updates while driving is garbage. Hardly used it and I've already had a couple of times when it didn't recognize the address entered. I know it's a safety feature, I just don't care for it. Something to be aware of when planning a trip.ĭon't care for the artificial noise at slow speeds. A lot of charging stations require a membership. The convenience of the power adjustments.Ĭharging stations. I'm sure I'll like the heated seats come winter. Preset seat and mirror adjustments are pretty nice. I like that the radio allows a lot of station entries, more so than would be offered with push buttons as far as I can tell. It would be nice if there was a toggle to keep it on even in drive mode. Stupid simple gears: Park, Drive, Reverse.īackup camera is nice. I love the blind spot warning and the variable cruise control. The cost to charge is significantly less that an equivalent gallon of fuel. ![]() Maintenance should be considerably less and battery costs should drop significantly in the next 10 years. Except for the artificial noise generated at slow speeds, I really like having the electric over gas for noise. ![]() So far I haven't taken a trip longer than that. I found I can get around 140 miles on the freeway before it hits the red zone. Most of my trips are short and I can easily recharge in the downtime. I was worried that this would quickly become a huge constraint but I've found that it hasn't been a problem at all. It comes with a level 1 charger which can take up to 37 hours to charge. First electric vehicle I've owned and have about 600 miles on it to date.
